Details on Grand Fond Falls & River Explore to 3 Pools.
The rating for this hike is (5) moderately challenging.
Put your fitness to the test and walk for an hour on a steady uphill trail through virgin forest for the first segment of this hike. Once at the top, terrain becomes flat. Enjoy this for a bit, because a walk downhill introduces a trail mixed with portions of both flat and hilly areas before arriving at Marianne River. Grand Fond Waterfall is now a close distance away. Distance covered at this point is 1.9 miles and elevation at the waterfall is 161 feet.
Swim leisurely in a natural waterfall and pool, but be careful when swimming at the sides of the pool where it is extremely rocky. Wear shoes as a precaution.
Afterwards, trek downstream Marianne River through rocky terrain. Slide on the natural water-slide, swim through beautiful pools and small gorges and gasp at lovely vistas which are definitely a bonus on this trail.
Arrive at the popular “3 Pools” and have fun. Note that the return hike from '3 Pools' is just 20 minutes away from the Spring Bridge.
Total distance covered for this expedition is 4 miles and elevation at the Spring Bridge is 26 feet.
