FULL MOON PUMP ON ST. MICHAEL'S TRAIL

We meet up as usual at 3:00pm SHARP, at Eddie Hart grounds. Out pump starts from there and we head on up Richard Street into the hills.

We eventually reach at the trail head of the popular St. Michael's Trail and from there we hike along that trail, up "Salt-fish Hill" and all the way to the known "Look-Out", just above Surrey Village, on the outskirts of Lopinot.

Distance covered up to this point is exactly 5 miles according to Wikiloc.

After a short rest, we turn around and trek back how we came up to the St. Michael's Trail Head.....this time, we take a different route to get us back to our start point.

Along the way, once the evening/night sky remains clear, we will be greeted with the "Super moon" which will be at 100%. Brace yourself for this beauty.

We eventually reach back to Richard Street and from there, back at Eddie Hart Grounds where once again, according to Wikiloc, we would've accomplish 6.3 miles, giving at total mileage of 11.3 miles. Not bad for a Thursday pump.

ABOUT THE EVENT

We all drive as a convoy to La Fillette Village and we park on the Old Paria Main Road.

We enjoy a short 20 minute walk along gentle dirt terrain until we approach the top of the steps that will eventually lead us to the very low keyed beach that is ideal for swimming.

After spending 1.5 to 2.0 hours at 100 Steps, we make our way back to our vehicles and depart once again as a convoy to Las Cuevas. We drive through the small fishing village to Fort Abercrombie Car Park.

A very beautiful stay over at this fort where photography of the mountains and the Caribbean Sea is really spectacular. Providing that the tide is low and the sea remains calm, more great swimming at Fort Abercrombie.

A minimum of (8) persons is required for the success of this tour happening. If for whatever reason this is not met, Nature Trekking in T&T reserves the right to either cancel this event and participants will either be refunded the full amount or upon agreement, money towards the event be rolled over to another day agreed between both parties.

ABOUT THE EVENT

We drive as a convoy from Arima to Matura. We take a cool 45 minute hike from our parked vehicles, We hike past the well-known trail to Mermaid Pool on to another trail higher and then take a little known side trail that will eventually lead us smack to our preferred pool.

Nice swimming and relaxation at this pool guaranteed......very well away from the popular Mermaid Pool.

Upon departure, instead of taking the trail that bought us here, we will instead river trek all along shallow pools and waterways for the next 30 minutes of careful trekking until we eventually reach to Mermaid Pool.

A further 30 minute hike from Mermaid Pool will eventually bring us back to our parked vehicles.
