We park at Manacal Road in Caura where the hike starts. We start on road heading straight into the mountain of the Northern Range. We will be crossing quite a number of small streams that crosses the main trail and we will eventually start heading uphill. At the summit, we will officially be between "Caura and Morne La Croix Villages". From the summit, of course we start heading downhill through natural forest until we eventually come to a wide dirt road which is called "Mamoral Road". Our walk here becomes quite invigorating as we enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
We eventually come out on the well-known "Arima/Blanchisseuse Road" in the heart of Morne La Croix Village. We walk through this village as we make our way to a nearby dirt road parallel to the main road that carries us all the way to the summit of "Las Lapas Road" where at this point is the official entrance to "Lopinot Village".
Steady downhill trekking along dirt road will give us the opportunity in seeing the lovely valley of Lopinot before we eventually come to the first village "La Pastora Village" en route to the main village of Lopinot. At the Savannah is the perfect spot for us to take a break before we embark on our final leg back to Caura.
Departing Caura, we take a historical trail where back in 1944 the inhabitants of Caura Village took on their way to Lopinot when they got their eviction notices from the government back then and had to take up new residence in Lopinot. Of course we head on back to the mountain where it is steady uphill trekking all the way to the summit where at this point, lovely views of Lopinot can be admired before we make our final journey downhill all the way until we eventually see our parked vehicles awaiting our arrival.
